Burj Jumeirah Project
Burj Jumeira will be a planned super-tall skyscraper, built in the Al Sufouh neighborhood of Dubai which is also home to popular landmarks including the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai Internet City. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in 2023. It is an icon in Dubai’s skyline. It is 550 meters tall and is located opposite Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Sufouh. The design is inspired by the ripples of the UAE’s desert sand dunes and its oases. The tower’s façade will be covered with digital displays that can be used for events and celebrations. It is the centerpiece of a comprehensive multi-building development by Dubai Holding to be known as Downtown Jumeira. The project was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the Chairman of Dubai International Marine Club, and Abdulla Al Habbai, Chairman of Dubai Holding.
Burj Jumeirah Features
The Burj Jumeirah tower will have several observation decks, giving visitors all-round panoramic views of Dubai. The visitors will be able to watch fireworks and other events from the highest platform, as well as take part in extreme sports. At a height of 450 meters there will be a sky-lounge and interconnected sky-restaurant to be known as ‘The Crown’, which can also be used to host events. The tower base is designed in form of the outline of Sheikh Mohammed’s fingerprint, and it will accommodate various social, cultural and artistic events and activities. The tower will rise from one end of the lake and will be comprised two connected, curved volumes that are modeled on desert topography and lined with digital displays. It will also include water fountains and a terraced outdoor amphi-theatre surrounded by restaurants and shops. Construction was started immediately after the inauguration and the first phase of the development is scheduled to be delivered in 2023.
Burj Jumeirah Development
Inside the Burj Jumeira, there will be a number of observation decks, including one that spans its split-volume form three-quarters of the way up. The observation deck will offer 360-degree panoramic views of Dubai and the opportunity to skydive, and be accessed by lifts that are fitted with interactive and immersive digital screens. Similar digital screens will be used to line the interiors of the Burj Jumeira’s viewing platforms, ensuring they go beyond the traditional concept of observation decks.At 450 meters, there will a flexible event space named the Crown. It will be connected to a sky-lounge and sky-restaurant, which will enable it to be extended to host larger scale events. The Burj Jumeira will be connected to the Sharaf DG Metro Station by a covered pathway, which will also extend to the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah the iconic hotel built on an artificial island located 280 metres from Jumeirah Beach. Burj Jumeirah will be the first of its kind freehold community in the region. The project offers residential, as well as leisure development option, this mixed-use freehold establishment would be a mini operating city on its own.
